Just got this from the Director of Media Services, Paul Price. They’re looking for a part time web person. Here’s what Paul said:

Don’t know if you’re still teaching web classes at the college; thought you might be able to spread the news – we have an opening for a part-time Web Designer. The position is posted at the college’s HR web site (http://www.lcc.edu/hr/job_openings/index.htm).  Anyone with questions should contact Nancy Ernsberger (ernsben@email.lcc.edu or 483-1966).

Eye-Fi-Card (Custom)_th.jpgNow here’s a very cool item that every photographer needs. It’s a memory card that not only stores your pictures but uploads them wirelessly to the net for you. Not many higher end cameras use SD memory that I know of so that’s sort of a downer. If this was a CF card I’d buy one today. Check it out at the Eye-fi website.

dailyApps shows you how to install Apple’s new Mac OS X (Leopard) on a PC…

Well its been only a day since the Mac OSX Leopard was released officially by Apple and the hackers have managed to create a patched DVD that everyone like you and me can use to install Leopard on PC’s without having to buy a Mac. Please note the tutorial that I am going to post is still experimental and things might not work the right way simply because it is still early days in hacking Leopard to work on PC’s.

contrast_header_th.jpgI just stumbled onto this blog called Go MediaZine. They have lots of posts on design such as, “The 40% Skull Rule”, “4 Tips to Combat Creative Block”, “5 Links for Design Inspiration” for example. You get the idea. Anyway, they’re on part three of “Seven Easy Principles to Becoming a Master Designer.” Part one was about fonts, two was color and three is about contrast. Might be a good series. Check it out.

Golden MacBook Pro

goldmacbookpro100107.jpgLet’s say you’re a Mac fan with a desire to stand out and way too much money: what do you do? Well gold-plate your MacBook Pro, of course! Computer Choppers has worked up a one-off example MacBook Pro, and will be offering the service commercially in the near future. In addition to gold-plating the aluminum casing they also paint match the keyboard and trackpad as well as re-engrave the keyboard letters. And if that’s not special enough you can even replace the Apple with “your logo in diamonds.”

Of course all of this will cost a pretty penny: $1200-$1500, “depending on current gold price” for the gold-plating alone. But with everybody and his brother getting a Mac portable these days, I figure that’s a small price to pay for having the most blinged out Mac money can buy. There are more pictures on their site.
