One of my favorite sites, The Graphic Mac, has this post today about a free Photoshop book. My copy is downloading as I type this so I can’t comment on the quality but the people who put out the book have put out good stuff in the past.

Free Photoshop for Web design e-bookSitePoint is currently offering The Photoshop Anthology: 101 Web Design Tips, Tricks & Techniques, a 278 page e-book in unrestricted PDF format, available for download.

The book is filled with real-world Photoshop solutions for your next Web design project. The book is stuffed with full color illustrations for those who like to “see it” rather than “read it.”

SitePoint, and the sponsor 99designs, is making the book available for download for the next 23 days only, so hurry over and grab your copy. You will have to provide a valid e-mail address to receive the links to the PDFs. There are two versions available, a low res version at 25.5MB and a high res version at over 60MB.

In response to the recommendation made by Grant Thornton, the auditor for the Banner implementation, to review implementing a staggered registration process, the college is implementing an assigned registration schedule for Fall 2008.   This new registration schedule will allow us to manage the registration demand on the computer systems as well as improve our students’ registration experience.  The assigned registration schedule will be based on credits earned.  Qualifying credit hours include LCC earned hours and accepted transfer hours as of the end of the Spring semester 2008. Summer 2008 classes, classes in progress, and transfer credit pending evaluation are not included. If students are unsure of how many earned credits they have, they can check their web transcript in the Oracle Student System** to verify their Cumulative Earned Credit Points as of the Spring 2008 semester. They can also visit student services at the Main or West Campuses, or any of our extension sites including LCC East, Clinton County Center, or the Livingston County Center.

The schedule is as follows:
