Jeffrey Way is a designer in Nashville who’s posting a series of articles about working with clients. I’ve scanned it over and so far so good. I’ll poke around Jeff’s site and see what else might be interesting.

Be sure to read Working With A Client From Start To Finish on Jeff’s blog.

Fan Demand Resuscitates You Suck at Photoshop

A while ago I first showed a video tutorial called You Suck at Photoshop. Check the archives, it’s in there someplace. It was funny and even taught you something. With each episode of YS@Ps got delved a little deeper into the hosts, Donnie Hoyle, disintegrating life. As the series wound up I started to lose interest, personally. I think it was time for the sketch to die but I must be the only one. They’re bringing the series back do to the fan’s crying for more.

Be sure to read the article at Wired Magazine about it.

Summer-Fall Waiver Notification

An important note about Fall 2008 registration

LCC is switching from one student system to another between Summer 2008 and Fall 2008. Due to this transition, if you want to register for a course in Fall for which the prerequisite course is being taken at LCC in Summer, then for this semester only you will need to request a prerequisite override before you can register for your Fall course.

How will this affect me?

First, check the prerequisite for your desired course(s) in the schedule book or online: http://www.lcc.edu/courses.

If your desired course needs only Reading, Writing, and Math Levels, and you have those levels—you can register.

If your desired Fall 2008 course needs a prerequisite course that was passed appropriately at LCC in Spring 2008 or earlier—you can register.

If your desired course needs a prerequisite course being taken Summer 2008 at LCC—you will need an override before you can register.

How can I get an override if needed?

If you are going from one course to another at LCC (from ACCG210 in Summer to ACCG211 in Fall, from WRIT121 to WRIT122, from WRIT117 to HIST211, from READ116 to MATH107, etc.), then your override request should go to the Waiver Team http://www.lcc.edu/advising/waivers.htm.

• OR you can contact one of the ADM program advisors (all full-time faculty) to process a waiver. Please make sure that everyone know about this before everyone leaves for summer as this becomes a bit more problematic for students in August.
