Ivan over at Creative Bits has a nice post about logo design:

Logo Design narrative and brief form for clientsYour logo is your visual ambassador to the world. It must be memorable and unique. Logos exist because we remember faces and landmarks. Your logo is the unique face of your business – your interesting landmark – so people can find you again in the crowd.

I really enjoyed reading this post by James Whittaker about using EMs for layout. He links to a Adobe AIR application to help you calculate EM sizes.

Webdesigner Depot is one of those websites that will suck your day away. A friend sent me a link to an article there and now I have no idea what happened to my lunch hour. Poof. On the plus side, I did find lots to share with you guys.

Here’s a good post about design that I thought you’d like:

A design may have impact. It may have style. But having these isn’t enough.

To work well, a design has to have elements that play off each other’s strengths. Fortunately, every piece of content has inherent guidelines.

Layout, or the arrangement of content on a web page, is critical to a design’s success. Among other things, layout prioritizes content to lead people from one element to the next.

If done right, people will be so interested in the content that they won’t notice anything else.

Read on for more details and tips for creating layouts that work in your designs.
